Bringing Yoga to your workspace

Who we are

At YogaBreak we are passionate about integrating yoga into your working week, helping you to combat stress and burn out. We focus on strengthening the body and focusing the mind throughout our practice and all classes can be adjusted for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, as well as injury modifications. This makes our classes accessible for all levels of students.

Are you are looking to provide your team with an early morning strength building practice to start the day right? Maybe a class during working hours, or over a lunch break to get the body moving and inject some energy. Or do you require a more meditative, mindful practice at the end of a busy day? Whatever your needs are, we will work with you to find what is right for you and your business.

Yoga sessions can be held in your office, in an affiliate gym (near you), or virtually via Zoom. Sessions usually run for 60 minutes, however if this doesn’t suit your needs we can work together to scale up or down depending on your requirements.

I’m interested, what next?

If you want to introduce yoga to your workplace, we offer a complementary introductory session and we have a range of online and in-person packages with tailor made sessions for all levels of yoga practice.

The power of movement, backed by science

There are well documented consequences of stress on physiological health, these include risks of high blood pressure, musculoskeletal disorders, migraines, IBS, cardiovascular disease and postural issues. Research suggests that yoga can be used as an essential tool to holistically support employee physical well-being, mitigating the effects of stress and improving overall health.

Yoga’s putative effect on stress appears to rely on a bodily shift to parasympathetic nervous system dominance, The slow breathing and movement patterns in yoga stimulate the vagus nerve and lower blood pressure and heart rate.

Salmon et al 2009

As well as improving physical health, yoga can also support employee’s mental well-being and assist with stress management. In 2018, a study on 90 employees working in a corporate environment found that after 8 -16 weeks of twice-weekly yoga practice, participants displayed significant increase in well-being and decreased levels of anxiety, displaying that yoga can be used as an effective coping strategy against employee stress and burn out, they write:

“When compared to the control group, yoga practitioners showed significant decreases in stress, anxiety, and significant increases in well-being”.

Maddux et al 2018

As it becomes increasingly important for businesses of all sizes to ensure they are supporting employee mental and physical well-being, yoga can offer the holistic solution to physical and mental stressors. A healthier workforce also increases productivity and can lead to higher levels of staff retention, as employees feel their mental and physical health is being invested in.

About Kelly Eva, founder of YogaBreak

After struggling with severe burnout whilst working as a culture and wellbeing manager in a corporate environment, I was able to use yoga as a form of rehabilitation. Seeing the benefits that yoga could offer physically, mentally and emotionally, naturally led me to the path of becoming an instructor.

I trained in Transformational Yoga, a style that uses self-observation, gratitude, physical postures and breath with Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga. I decided to start YogaBreak in order help bring yoga into corporate workspaces, improving employee well-being.
